Flood Mitigation

LONGWOOD FLOOD MITIGATION

The Longwood community and Longwood Golf Club has been presented with an opportunity to mitigate and potentially alleviate future flooding events in the community and surrounding areas. The Harris County Flood Control District (HCFCD) has presented a project that encompasses areas of the golf course for detention and expansion of Little Cypress Creek. This project, while very complex, involves not only Longwood Golf Club, but Longwood Village HOA and residents. Longwood Village has a unique opportunity, due to having a golf course within its community, to be able to address and remedy flood issues within the community. As mentioned, this project is very complexed, and we have established this page to help communicate the details of the project and any questions and concerns. Below you will find information from Triumph Golf and HCFCD outlining the different components of the project.
